some times i will not use full screen mode when i shoot slides for a new ignitable. it could be that some applications or photos will not give you full screen viewing. in this case i want a clean desktop. like many people, i have a very busy desktop with many shortcuts to applications that i use all of the time on my personal computer. when i want to create a new ignitable for work, i want to insure that the desktop does not distract anyone from my message so i clean it up. first, i want to get rid of the tool bar along the bottom. the veiwer does not need to see what application that i have loaded. to hide the tool bar, place your cursor over an empty area of the toolbar and right click on it. select the properties option and click on it. now click on the auto hide toolbar option click on it and an arrow will appear in the box. now click on apply and ok now the toolbar is hidden. to view it simple run your mouse over the area and it will appear. move the mouse away and it is hidden once again now let's hide all of the icons. first right click in any blank area of the desktop select new and folder a new folder will appear and you can name it anything that you want. now right click any icon that you want to hide and drag it over the file folder and it will be placed in the folder. now right click on the next icon. keep going until you have placed all of the icons into the folder you may find that some icons cannot be removed. your computer may not be able to find the link if you move them so you can leave them for now. when you have moved all of the desired icons you can click on the new forlder and see that everything that you moved is in there. to bring all of them back at once when you are done, simply click on edit select all with all of them highlighted you can right click and drag them back to your desktop. you can select where you want them placed. now let's change the background. click on start conrol panel display desktop now select none or search for one that you want to use. in this case i selected none click on apply then ok close the control panel window and you now have a very clean desktop that is ready for creating a new ignitable.
